Artificial Intelligence in Dunedin: Research, industry, and public policy

Join the AI Forum at our next Connect event in Dunedin to discuss the impact and deployment of AI in New Zealand.

The event will bring together researchers on the University of Otago’s AI and Law in New Zealand project, members of Otago’s Centre for AI and Public Policy, and speakers from local tech companies. Joy Liddicoat will discuss AI’s impact on professional employment including education, journalism, law and medicine. She will be joined by colleague James Maclaurin who will explore potential uses of AI within government. Steven Mills of the University of Otago’s Department of Computer Science will present his latest machine vision and machine learning research findings. Local Rocketwerkz games programmer Amy Harman will provide valuable insights to gaming AI.

The panel will be facilitated by Director of the University of Otago’s Centre for Law and Policy in Emerging TechnologiesColin Gavaghan.
