Good data helps us see where and how Aotearoa New Zealand is using AI, where the opportunities are and where help may be needed. I’m delighted to announce our latest research project, providing quarterly insights on the impact of AI on Productivity in Aotearoa. We’ll be launching our first survey in May, so watch this space.
We’ve had amazing feedback on our aigovernance.nz website, which is a free resource offering best practice AI Governance tool sets curated for a New Zealand audience. This second phase provides essential resources for organisations planning to conduct their own in-house workshops to develop responsible AI governance. It’s ideal for small to medium sized businesses who want to begin using AI responsibly and safely. Join us at the phase two launch, AI Governance: workshop essentials on 15 May in Auckland. Register here.
Discussion on how AI can improve the world around us continues, this year at the Auckland Writers Festival. Register to attend AI: Good or Bad, It’s Here to Stay on 18 May. Who’s afraid of AI? Join us for breakfast during Techweek24. I’ll be joining our Chair Megan Tapsell, Deloitte’s Dr Amanda Willaimson and Frankly.AI’s Matt Ensor. We’ll be addressing common myths and fears about AI, plus a live demonstration of AI in action.
Also during Techweek24, join Tech Trends and Preparing for AI on 22 May in Dunedin. This workshop will explore Deloitte’s 15th Tech Trends report and will be followed by a deep dive into practical uses of AI in business. Meanwhile, in Wellington, learn how to build a generative AI prototype. This Hands-on Gen AI workshop on AWS is designed for technical builders with no AI experience. We’re also helping shape the next era of education with AI in Education: Lessons from early adopters.
Plus, our Generative AI/Large Language Models working group, in collaboration with Google and Superhuman, is launching a living white paper during Techweek24. Our working group is using gen AI tools to create a paper that regenerates using the most up-to-date information. Free to members, please register to attend.
