Join The AI Conversation, Connect And Be Involved!

Welcome to our very first newsletter. The Artificial Intelligence Forum of New Zealand (AIFNZ) connects innovators, researchers, educators, regulators, investors and entrepreneurs. It has been a busy establishment period for the Forum as we set up our team and begin organising our programme for the year ahead.

Last month, we were delighted to see so many people from the AI community attending our official launch event in Wellington. As the Hon Paul Goldsmith remarked in his speech on the night, the Forum is a great place to keep the government and business moving forward, preparing our country for the impact of AI. After the event, conversations continued well into the night and many new connections were made. Please join us in Auckland on 16 August for the inaugural AIFNZ Auckland Connect Event. Also, mark your diary for the Canterbury Tech Summit on 14 September, where AI takes centre stage.

AIFNZ is currently embarking on its first research project, a landmark report on the state of AI in New Zealand. The research will provide a definitive benchmark on who is working with AI locally, how we compare internationally and what initiatives should be considered to maximize the opportunities. If you would like to be involved as a supporter of this research please get in touch with us. Meanwhile, I look forward to connecting with you at a number of events over the coming months. Please let us know what activities and outcomes you would like from the Forum going forward, I appreciate your thoughts.
